This program is offered at no cost. Acadian Ambulance will cover all costs associated with ECA course and National Registry examination.

You will need

U.S. Work AuthorizationHS Diploma/GEDDriver's License

Must be at least 18 years of age

Current CPR certification as established by the American Heart Association. Must be able to read, write and communicate professionally and effectively with employees and managers. Must be able to drive large vehicles in normal and adverse conditions.

About this program

If you have no experience in the medical field we offer the ECA Trainee position. A 10 day program once a month in Baytown. After the 10 days you will take a National Registry Test in which you would be certified to work in the Ambulance. Once you are working on the Ambulance we then have a hybrid EMT class once every 2 months. This class consists of 4 weeks of online course work followed by 1 week in Baytown for skills followed by another 4 weeks and 1 week of skills. This continues for 3 1/2 months. Upon graduation and taking the NREMT you would have a job with Acadian as an EMT. Additionally, we also offer both traditional and accelerated Paramedic programs. This training program lasts 10 days.
